Continuous polarization occurs within the ultraviolet (UV) and visible light regions from 210 to 760 nanometers (nm). The filter is neutral in both the "open" and "crossed" positions, thus assuming color fidelity. Light received at wide angles of incidence is polarized as effectively by Sterling Optics Polarizers as light normal (perpendicular) to the surface, a characteristic not common in other polarizer types. The polarizers are stable to visible, UV and infrared (IR) radiation, and can withstand thermal transients to 160 degrees C (320 degrees F) in the unlaminated forms. Stress fee lamination between the glass substrates can protect against the effects of prolonged exposure to high temperature and humidity conditions.
